Katie's Family Birthday in San Diego

To understand what we’re trying to accomplish here, please refer back to this blog.

I got off easy this year for Katie's birthday. In years passed, we have hosted a movie night by decorating our backyard with a full size popcorn machine, s'mores bar, and candy bags. One of Katie's favorite things to do each summer is visit the OC Fair. Due to Covid, they canceled the fair in 2020. A few friends and I go together and recreated her own fair. We provided art work made by the children, table place settings, homemade corn dogs, cornbread, corn on the cob, my goodness what is my obsession's with corn, cinnamon rolls, and tater tots because fries were too expensive. Anyways, this year, Katie said I don't want to go all out I just want to have a family overnight in a hotel. We had some hotel points saved up so we decided to head down to San Diego and stay at a convention center hotel. What they don't tell you on the website is, a San Diego convention hotel (when there's no convention) is a great place to meet up if your looking to have a non-quiet evening. Regardless the four of us headed out in the trustee Venza and had a birthday that will never forget. Filled with a nice dinner, that Katie made our reservation for the following night, however the hostess took care of us. Ice cream at Ghirardelli's, and a trip to the Maritime museum.

Vaya Con Dios!
